Haul: Missoni for Target & Ulta

I set off for Target early today so I could beat the crowds......there were no crowds but I suspect the Missoni stuff was put out before today. I only wanted an infinity scarf and when I spotted them there were three color ways: fuschia/black, grey/black and coral/aqua/brown. And only one of each left....totally a sign I needed all three!

At Ulta I was on a search for Cosmedicine Medi-Matte, found that and some other stuff....China Glaze Goulish Glow, Zoya Marina, Organix Brazilian Keratin Treatment, EOS hand lotion, two face masks and Real Techniques Core Collection.

1. Waves like Lauren Conrad, they even look great on the second day.

3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. Super light feeling with medium coverage. Also wears beautifully on my super oily skin.

4. Shiseido Sun Protection liquid foundation SPF 42. Super light on the skin, very long wearing, water proof and transfer resistant. Very long wearing on my super oily skin! AMAZING mixed with the Vitalumiere Aqua!!

Review: Tarte Cheek Stain

So I tried out the Tarte cheek stains in 2 different shades: Green Siren (a peachy apricot shade) and Flower Child (a plummy pink).
I've used them in two different ways, before I apply liquid foundation and after. Neither really work well for me. If I apply before foundation I never seem to apply enough to be seen through my foundation. And the rubbing of my cheeks makes them kind of red and blotchy. I've also applied after liquid foundation and I get the same blotchy results.
Every other review I've read on Tarte cheek stains has been glowing. How easy it is to apply and how you skin glows after. I have not found this to be true for me! It does not glide on my skin! I've applied straight from the tube and applied to my fingers first to warm it up. Same crappy results!
Also the Green Siren shade seems to be drier than the Flower Child, not sure why that is.
They look OK on my lips.......

Update on Revlon Photo Ready foundation

It doesn't work for me. I wore it for a while and then one day after work (I work at/in a gym) I looked closely at my face. It had melted off in places but not in others. Not pretty!
So now I'm trying to use up the 2 bottles I bought by mixing it with my Revlon ColorStay. This works much better for my skin!
So the bottom line is, this may work for different skin types but not for mine.

So, I bought Revlon Photo Ready foundation. I've done lots of research and have finally decided to try it. I've read good reviews and bad reviews.
Most seem to say it's OK for skin on the dryer side, and considering that is my skin right now I'm giving it a go!
It's been compared to MUFE HD foundation and Nars Sheer Glow, both on the pricey side and never tried by me.

Lately I've been noticing how matte my face looks after I apply my Revlon ColorStay and Smashbox Halo powder. I've been trying lots of things to get the just-right amount of glow. I don't want to look like a disco ball but I want that healthy glow. My bronzers both light and medium aren't doing it and neither is the Tarte Cheek stain (review on that to come?).
So here we are at Revlon Photo Ready. I tried it today for the first time and i think I like it. First impressions are: there is a mysterious glow without any shine at all! It's weird. The shade I chose is Shell (the second lightest) and it may be too light. The next darkest shade (Nude?) was going to be way too dark, I could tell through the packaging. I may buy it and mix the two together.
The pump is the most genius thing ever.
My only gripe is it does settle into my pores (I've recently become "porexic"). I would say, compared to ColorStay, it settles about the same. Not great but I can live with it. I should say under the foundation I'm using a silicone based primer and Clinique Pore Minimizer.
Still have to test the staying power at work. That's the true test....sweat! I'll update after a few work days.
